A PhD Thesis on: « Application of Power Electronics and Control for Energy Storage Management System Proposal: Case Study of Lead Acid Battery », has been successfully defended at the University of Buea. The recommendations of this study will help/permit users to reuse their batteries instead of throwing them away and this will also reduce the amount of LEAD disposal to the environment. Even after attaining their life cycles, such batteries could still be used.
After a brilliant presentation by Mr. Musong Louis Katche, the Jury chaired by Professor Gideon Ngwa (the Director of the Postgraduate School in UB), declared the candidate successful. According to the Jury, the Thesis is well written and defended and the proposed solutions and recommendations are practical. The Jury was unanimous to recommend the candidate to the Senate of the University of Buea for the award of PhD in Power Systems Engineering with the grade « Excellent ».
The successful presentation, interaction and award was indeed gratifying to Professor Emmanuel Tanyi, pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the supervisor, Dr. Tsafack Pierre because Mr. Musong Louis Katche is one of the First Batch of students admitted into the Faculty in 2010. They praised his long journey of perseverance and support to the Faculty.
Professor Tanyi also thanked Professor Pierre Brosselard from INSA-LYON who has inspired and provided support in teaching and evaluation/review of Thesis at the Faculty.
He is now Dr. Musong Louis Katche. CONGRATULATIONS
