For certain constraints the day was celebrated on Wednesday, 22 March 2023 instead of the 20th of March 2023. The event took place at the CURELF premises (former Alliance Franco-Camerounaise and was chaired by Professor Nol Alembong, Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Teaching on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. Under the theme: « French Language, Connecting for Action » the Secretary-General of La Francophonie’s message, which was projected, called on all member state to work within the framework of the Digital Age and make ourselves visible, make our language visible and also make every art object that we produce visible.
Professor Nol Alembong enjoined the young people to take the message of the Secretary-General of La Francophonie seriously and work on it so as to remain connected irrespective of our cultural diversity. He thanked the Cooperation Division and the Faculty of Arts (Department of French) for orgaing the event.
The event was characterized by a round-table conference (moderated by Dr. Simo Souop) a sketch and an award of prizes to the best three students who were successful in the « concours des dix mots ».
