Clad in their special dresses made from the Women’s Day fabric, the UB women turned out massively to celebrate the 38th edition of the International Women’s Day in Buea, before the watchful eyes of Vice-Chancellor Ngomo Horace Manga.
After the parade, the women gathered at CURELF (former Alliance Franco-Camerounaise) for merry making. The President of the UB Women, Mme Louisa Tangie thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the support which enabled the women to have a successful celebration. On his part, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the women for their active participation and urged them to continue to uphold the standards and values of UB.
It was also an occasion to award prizes to some women for their active participation in activities carried out in UB to commemorate the day: peace walk, trade-fair, human investment and symposium.
